About Course

Is it possible to live with a completely open heart, yet still not be beaten down by other people’s greed, anger and manipulation? Can we maintain a continual inner state of compassion without being push-overs?

Yes, we can – with proper training. The Six Paramittas are six inner qualities employed by what we call bodhisattvas, or beings on the path to liberation. A bodhisattva is anyone whose life is about bringing benefit to the world – the pursuit of liberation, not for oneself only, but the benefit of all – makes one a bodhisattva.

The bodhisattva ideal emerged in India, uniting the indo-european warrior culture with the compassion-centered teaching of the Buddha. The bodhisattva is a spiritual hero, fighting for the benefit of all beings, and using the Six Paramittas as his sword and shield.

In this online lecture, you will learn how practicing the Six Paramittas enables you to gradually live with an open heart in the world, without being influenced by other’s negative mind-states. It is a graduated inner cultivation of six qualities, one resting upon the other, that ultimately makes you a spiritual warrior whose compassion is indestructible.

The Six Paramittas are generosity, patience, ethics, power, wisdom and meditation. Each has its own under-categories, and methods of cultivation. This online seminar will introduce you to all of them, and give you practical tools for developing them. The seminar will be recorded, and you will have access to the recording forever.

You will also learn about the historical development of Buddhism, including the three yanas – or vehicles of enlightenment.

The seminar will finish with a collective tong-len meditation, which is the most transformative compassion-meditation in Buddhism, training us – if practiced correctly – in transforming any kind of hardship into wisdom and compassion.

The zoom-link for the seminar will be sent to participants upon signing up, and the edited recording distributed shortly after the seminar is concluded.

The seminar will last for about 2 hours with a 15-minute break, and the meditation for about 20 minutes. Lastly, there will be time for questions and reflection. The seminar costs 300 kroner. If you cannot pay this price, we kindly ask you to get in touch with us about a discount.
