
About Course
This training is an exploration of the multiple dimensions of the body: a systematic, scientific and spiritual opening of our entire being – blending traditional yogic technologies with a modern, neuroscientific understanding of the body-mind It is also a process of rejuvenation, and liberation. The body and mind entering this training will not be the same as the body and mind that leaves it.
When stiffness is transformed into fluidity on the somatic level, the mind answers: it becomes vibrant, playful, creative and non-judgmental. The effects of aging, stress and trauma are reversed, and we enter a state of spiritual freedom: a platform whereon the potential of life – and who we want to be – becomes limitless.
Rāsa – the juice of life
The process of aging, from a yogic perspective, is a decrease in what we call “rāsa”: fluidity, or moisture. Rāsa refers to the juice of life: both the fluids of the body, such as blood, spinal fluid and sexual excretions, and the mental fluidity of playfulness, humour and joy.
When we grow older, we naturally lose touch with this vital fluidity – our rāsa. We become lost in our roles, functions and duties. Our energies are imprisoned by past traumatic events, through tension held in the body. The capacity of the mind to rejoice, be curious and seek adventure decreases, and we experience psychosomatic dryness, in Sanskrit referred to as “rāsahin”, or “un-fluidity”.
This training reverses this process of dryness, and stimulates rāsa to again flow with force through the body and mind. We will systematically open the blockages held by our joints, fascia, nervous system and musculature, and hence guide rāsa to again flow like a river throughout the entire body.
Tension and trauma
Our bodies hold all our experiences, from birth to the present moment. What we think about as negative thoughts are the mental expression of ammunition carried in our nervous systems.
The way to clear this tension, and the thought patterns that accompany it, is non-judgmental awareness directed to the parts of the body holding tension, combined with somatic tools that bring it into awareness. This is hatha-yoga. When we master this, we “meet” the version of ourselves who underwent the trauma – a part of ourselves that has been separated from the whole. This offers an opportunity to re-absorb that part of us, and the energy imprisoned in that experience, tension and thought pattern. If we can conduct this process throughout the entire body, and meet all our experiences with non-judgment, love and understanding, we can allow ourselves to utterly drop the defences and ammunition stored in the body. When this happens, remarkable shifts occur in us, both physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
The body that holds anger, fear, shame, sorrow, instability and guilt also holds inflammation and toxicity. Inflammation is the primary driver of all disease. The tense body ages quicker, and the survival-driven brain lacks access to creativity, and its full potential – which is much greater than most people realise. This training is therefore also a powerful method for avoiding diseases, and utterly removes the platform whereon these can develop.
Aim of training
This training is a systematic, gradual reintroduction to the vastness of what you are beyond your patterns and history. It is a reintroduction to the joyful, playful presence of the child, and a gateway to unlock the full potential of the human mind, once freed from the shackles of the egoic structure.
When through with this training, you will inhabit a different body and a different mind, and have a powerful understanding of how you can dissolve tension and self-heal with immediate effects. You will develop an advanced understanding of the intelligence of the physical body and the nervous system, and how you can access the full force of these mechanisms as their sovereign, rather than being at their command. You will be led into proper forgiveness of self and others, and learn how hatha-yoga – the great science of the nervous system – is humanity’s most refined system for reaching liberation through the body.
Week by week, we will reclaim lost life-force, and continually experience the rejuvenation that takes place on all levels of our lives when stagnant energy is liberated.
Each week includes certain dietary requirements, which are there in order to facilitate a process that heals all organs and glands as deeply as possible.
Practical informations
The classes will be given via zoom, Sundays from 10:00-12:00 (Oslo time). Participants are encouraged to take part live, but can also take some classes per recording, when necessary. Participants will receive access to all recordings forever, so they can review the teachings at their convenience.
The first class is on the 17th of august, and the last on the 5th of October.
