Relationships can be our greatest source of power – and what hurts us the deepest. They can empower – or hold back. This evening session is about how we can make our relationships a source of spiritual fulfilment, health and transcendance: how we can love in a way that deepens our self-knowledge and connection, and how we can leave our past patterns behind us and enter a truer, freer and more loving future.
The event is taught by mythologist, astrologer and Alexandra Lysøe, and yoga and meditation teacher Henrik Lysøe. Henrik and Alexandra are married, and draw on their own experiences working on themselves and others in order to provide precise insight and advice.
Dissolving past patterns
Traumatic relationships distort our natural capacity for love and safety. When early bonds mix affection with fear or control, the nervous system learns to equate connection with danger. We adapt through appeasement, withdrawal, or vigilance, forming patterns that repeat unconsciously in adulthood.
We will look at how the nervous system and somatic level of experience is connected to relationships, and through yogic science learn how we can notice when we ourselves, or other people, are in a trauma-response, and how we can meet that in ourselves and others in a self-respecting, yet compassionate manner. This enables us to stay in the present, and prevents past patterns from seeing control of our current realities.
Moving into wholeness: the relationship as a source of transcendence
The topic of this workshop is not to dwell on past suffering, but learn how to step out of it. What can be done, right now, in order to manifest a relationship that is a source of deep wholeness?
We will blend spiritual wisdom with modern science. We possess excellent research on what makes some relationships last, and others not. We know what behaviour and inner attitudes lead to mutual joy, and what nurtures self-sabotage and unhappiness. At this workshop, you will be presented with this research, and explore how you can use it in your own life.

Guided Practice: Taking and Giving
The lecture will offer participants a series of concrete tools they can use to transform their relationships, and learn how to use their relationships and tools for self-growth, deepen their understanding of themselves, and heal their own fragmented parts – and those of others.
The lecture will culminate in a powerful and transformative self-compassion meditation, wherein the collective energy of the group will function as a platform to heal and make whole the parts of us that suffer, and hold on to past pain. This technique will be transmitted live, and is something you can take home, and deepen in your daily life.
